The Somali government’s Ministry of Health says 229 cases of Coronavirus have been detected in the past 24 hours following a survey of 2,476 people across the country.
Banadir region has the highest number of cases with 117 cases, with Jubbaland receiving 1 case, Somaliland with 46 cases, South West with 2 cases and Puntland with 63 cases.
According to the Ministry of Health, the death toll has risen to six, with 14 recovering.
Nationwide, 6,246 cases have been reported, including 208 deaths, and 3,778 cases.
Health officials in the country are reiterating the importance of the community taking extra precautions as the disease has re-emerged.
