The Federal Government of Somalia and Galmudug regional state have issued a statement on the distribution of seats in the city council in Dhusamareb following a meeting last night with intellectuals in the capital of Galmudug.
Initially, the statement said that the total number of councilors had been increased by 2 thus bringing the total number of councilors to 29.
20 of these seats will be allocated to the Dhusamareb and Gur’el communities while 9 will be distributed to other communities in the city.
The decision stipulates that the positions of Dhusamareb district commissioner and deputy district commissioner cannot compete with the factions currently represented by the incumbents.
