Police in Bari region have arrested business people who are in the business of changing money currency in Bossaso and who have allegedly exchanged excessive amounts of dollars.
Police officials told local media that many those changing the money currency in Bossaso have been arrested. They were said to have increased the exchange rate.
A military operation is underway in Bossaso to arrest anyone who refuses to accept Somali shillings or expects to exchange more dollars.
Similarly, some other towns in Puntland, including Garowe, are undergoing similar operations.
