Hir-Shabelle police have arrested three of the most prominent youths in Beledweyne, the regional capital of Hiraan region last night.
The youth were arrested on Wednesday in the central town of Beledweyne. The arrested include 2 young men and 1 woman.
Security officials in Beledweyne have not yet commented on the reasons behind their arrests but some residents in Beledweyne said it was due to their participation in Beledweyne conference.
Baledweyne Police in Hiraan region are said to have also arrested other people who were suspected of showing support to General Huud who was a vocal critic and who was opposed to the newly formed Hir-Shabeelle administration.
