The Ministry of Finance of the Jubbaland State of Somalia has marked World Customs Day on January 26th yesterday in Kismayu.
The commemoration was attended by various Jubbaland ministries such as trade, transport, business and civil society as well.
The Director General of the Ministry of Trade and Commerce Hussein Ayanle who spoke at the event to commemorate said the ministry is in close working relations with every stakeholder to realize development goals of the ministry and the public.
The Director General of the Jubbaland Ministry of Transport Saeed Abdullahi Maalim who also spoke at the event stressed the need for concerted efforts in making Jubbaland an economic hub in Somalia.
Deputy Minister for Finance Mohamed Duale Suleiman who opened the launch of the event in Kismayu explained the sources of revenue for Jubbaland state as well as its exports from the port of Kismayo as well as its imports.
