Djiboutian President Ismail Omar Gelleh has announced that he will run in the country’s April 2021 presidential election.
President Gelleh was first elected on April 9, 1999 and has been in office for more than 20 years.
Since then he has been President of Djibouti and has won several popular elections.
Djibouti’s opposition has previously accused the president of rigging the election.
