Jubbaland Security minister Abdirashid Hassan Abdinur (Abdirashid Janan) has denied that he is organizing a rebellion on the Kenya-Somalia border and has nothing to do with the Somali government’s decision to cut diplomatic ties with Kenya.
Speaking to the BBC, Abdirishid Janan said that Jubbaland had nothing to do with the Somali government’s severance of ties with Kenya and that Kenya was a brotherly country that could not be cut off.
Minister Janan’s comments came just hours after the Somali government accused its Kenyan counterpart of conducting military operations in the Mandera area, using Abdirashid Janan.
In a statement broadcast on Somalia’s National Television, the Federal Government of Somalia said it was closely monitoring the Kenyan military operation in the Mandera area.
