The Somali national army Command has elaborated fighting between its forces and the Al-Shabaab terror militants yesterday afternoon in Bay region of South West state of Somalia.
Commander of the Armed Forces Gen. Odowa Yusuf Rage who spoke to the media said that the government forces carried out a planned attack on an area called Mitir which is 11KM from Dinsor district and then suffered casualties from the terrorists.
Gen. Odowa aid the fighting resulted in casualties for al-Shabaab noting that 19 Al-Shabaab fighters had been killed in the attack as well as two members captured.
Speaking further, the Commander of the Armed Forces pointed out that an Al-Shabaab gathering place was also destroyed.
