Flooding from the raging waters of Shabelle river leaves behind a trail of destruction

The Shabelle River has caused new floods in Hiran region, especially in Jalalaqsi district, according to reports from that district.

The river is said to have flooded Jalalaqsi district and the surrounding areas causing casualties to civilians and properties.

Residents in Jalalaqsi said that four people, two of them siblings, died in the river as they tried to cross the river.

Reports indicate that some residents started fleeing from the flooded areas for fear of their lives as the raging flood waters continue to sweep.

The local residents are now appealing for help and disaster management.
