The Minister of Interior Security of the Jubbaland Government, Major General Yusuf Hussein Osman Dhumal, today officially inaugurated a five-day strategic review and planning workshop aimed at updating the Jubbaland Police Force Strategic Plan.
The programme, which runs from 13 to 17 October 2026, focuses on assessing the existing strategic framework of the Jubbaland Police and identifying new priorities to enhance the effectiveness, professionalism, and operational capacity of the force.
The opening session brought together the Director General of the Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs, the Director General of the Ministry of Interior Security, senior officers of the Jubbaland Police Force, religious leaders, and representatives from civil society organizations.
Speaking at the event, participants emphasized the importance of aligning the police strategic plan with current security needs and institutional development priorities. The review process is also expected to strengthen cooperation between the police and local communities, promoting a more inclusive and responsive approach to public safety.
The strategic review forms part of Jubbaland’s broader efforts to improve planning, coordination, and service delivery within its security institutions. Upon completion, the updated strategy is expected to provide a clear roadmap for police operations, institutional growth, and the continued enhancement of security services across the state.
