Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has traveled to Eritrea on Saturday at the invitation of his Eritrean counterpart, Isaias Afwerki.
During his four-day official visit, President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud will hold multi-faceted talks with his counterpart and top officials.
Five thousand Somali recruits who completed their training in Eritrea last year are awaiting their return home. Talks between the two presidents include the return of troops.
Last year, a UN report alleged that Eritrea-trained Somalia troops fought alongside Eritrean soldiers in the Tigray war, but the former government denied the allegations.
