Somalia Security Minister Abdullahi Mohamed Nur has last night ordered NISA’s interim director, Yassin Farey, to withdraw his troops from Mogadishu’s Aden Adde International Airport terminals.

The minister also said in another statement that the order did not apply to NISA forces stationed at the entrance control check points airport, but was limited to NISA officers operating inside the airport terminals.

“Changes related to the NISA forces operating at Aden Adde International Airport only apply to the NISA forces operating inside the Terminal. It does not apply to the forces controlling the checkpoints at Aden Adde International Airport,” Said Security Minister, Abdullahi Mohamed Nur in a statement.

The minister said last night that the decision to remove NISA troops from the airport was as a result of growing number of complaints from government agencies operating inside the airport.

He also said that NISA forces had committed a series of atrocities and threats, for which there was evidence.

Yasin Farey is expected to implement the minister’s order to evacuate the NISA from Aden Adde International Airport on Sunday, according to the security minister’s letter.

Aden Adde International Airport was staffed by plainclothes security forces and was previously under the direct control of former NISA Assistant Director Abdullahi Kulane.
