Somali Regional state leaders still hold separate meetings in Mogadishu

The presidents of the federal member states of Somalia have attended a meeting which was organized by the Union of candidates in the Somali capital, Mogadishu.

The regional states leaders have been in Mogadishu since the beginning of the poll talks which eventually culminated in an agreement on Thursday.

The meeting was also attended by former Somali Presidents and current members of the Union of Candidates, Members of both Houses of the Federal Parliament of Somalia, politicians as well as civil society organizations.

This special meeting follows the conclusion of an agreement reached on the country’s electoral issues between the presidents of the regional states and the leaders of the federal government of Somalia.

Since the end of the poll talks at the Afisiyoni tent, the state leaders have been having separate and private meeting with the Somali premier as well as the international.

The separate meetings are said to have been majorly centered on poll security and electoral related issues.
