In a decisive three-day military operation, the forces of the Jubbaland State, with critical support from the elite Danab Commandos of the Somali National Army, have successfully carried out a series of targeted offensives in Maqooqaha and surrounding villages in the Lower Juba region.

The operation, meticulously planned and executed, focused on dismantling Al-Shabaab hideouts and underground bunkers. Over 50 militants were neutralized, including high-ranking commanders and foreign fighters affiliated with the terror group.

In addition to the heavy militant casualties, the allied forces seized a significant cache of weapons and military supplies. Several enemy bases and tunnels were completely destroyed, further crippling the group’s operational capabilities in the region.

One of the most critical successes of the operation was the interception and safe destruction of a vehicle rigged with explosives, which was intended to target innocent civilians. The vehicle was expertly dismantled, preventing what could have been a devastating attack.

Air support from international partners played a pivotal role in the mission’s success, delivering precise airstrikes on key enemy positions and ensuring minimal collateral damage.

This operation marks a major victory in the ongoing fight against terrorism in southern Somalia and delivers a severe setback to Al-Shabaab elements hiding in the region.
