
The President of the Jubbaland State of Somalia, Ahmed Mohamed Islam, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of the Second Deputy President of Jubbaland, the late Sultan Abdiqadir Haji Mahmoud, who died earlier today in Nairobi, Kenya, where he had been receiving medical treatment in recent days.
In a heartfelt condolence message, President Ahmed Mohamed Islam said:
“I extend my deepest condolences to the family, relatives, the people of Jubbaland, and the entire Somali nation on the tragic loss of the late Second Deputy President of Jubbaland, Sultan Abdiqadir Haji Mahmoud. He was a heroic figure who played a pivotal role in the reconciliation efforts within Jubbaland and dedicated his life to unity, harmony, and the progress of our society,” Said President Ahmed Mohamed Islam.
He added, “He was a committed leader who tirelessly sought peaceful solutions to the challenges facing our people and worked to bring communities together.”
The Jubbaland State President concluded by praying for divine mercy upon the deceased and strength for his family and the nation during this difficult time.
The President of the Jubbaland State has also appointed a high-level committee tasked with organizing the State Funeral of the late Second Deputy President of Jubbaland.
The committee will oversee all arrangements for the national ceremony, honoring the life and service of the late leader, whose contributions to the Jubbaland administration and the Somali nation were widely respected.
