In a meticulously coordinated operation, Jubbaland’s elite Darawiish forces, supported by the U.S.-trained Danab commandos and the 56th Battalion of the 11th Brigade, launched a successful offensive across several key locations along the banks of the Jubba River in Lower Juba.
The targeted areas—Malaaleey, Araare, Koban, JanaaleJay, and Reeynero—were known hideouts for Al-Shabaab militants. The operation struck hard at the heart of the insurgents’ positions, resulting in significant militant casualties and the destruction of several of their hideouts.
Military officials confirmed that the operation inflicted a “devastating blow” to the Khawaarij (a term often used to refer to Al-Shabaab), as part of ongoing efforts to eliminate the group and restore lasting peace and stability in the region.
Commanders on the ground emphasized that these operations will continue until Jubbaland is fully cleared of extremist elements.
