The Jubbaland Police Force in the Lower Jubba Police Division has apprehended a suspect believed to be a human trafficker, along with four women he was attempting to smuggle out of Kismayo to Europe.
Police officials stated that once the investigation of the suspect is completed, he will be referred to the competent court for justice to be served.
This is not the first time that the Jubbaland Police, particularly the Lower Juba Police Division, have captured human trafficking groups. It is also noteworthy that Jubbaland is one of the regions in Somalia with the fewest reported human trafficking attempts.
