The second Vice President of the Jubbaland government, Abdulqadir Haji Mohamud has today officially launched a review program for the Jubbaland provisional Constitution.
The event which took place at the Daawad Hall in Kismayo attracted various officials including government officials, members of the Jubbaland Parliament and civil society organizations.
The provisional constitutional review program was organized by the Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs of the Jubbaland government and aimed to distribute the provisional constitution booklets to the community to contribute their opinions.
The Vice President, Abdulqadir Haji Mohamud noted that the review of the constitution was critically important for the development of transparency, justice and the development of the constitution of Jubbaland so that it’s compatible with the new trends in the country.
He said that the effort to review the provisional constitution is an important step to ensure good governance and the construction of Jubbaland systems of government. He called for a large-scale consultation with participation from all sections of the society so that the constitution is in line with the wishes of the people of Jubbaland.
“The constitution is an important guide that gives guidance to the system of government and administration. I hope that the review will be done to ensure that it can be consistent with the current conditions in our communities,” Said Abdulqadir Haji Mohamud.
