The Minister for Information, Culture and Tourism of Jubbaland state Abdifitah Mohamed Mukhtar accompanied by the Ministry’s Tourism Affairs Adviser have today participated in the celebration of the International World Tourism Day in Arusha, Tanzania.
This year’s theme being Tourism and Peace.
The Information, Culture and Tourism minister spoke highly about Somalia’s tourism and it is recovery process and lauded the Jubbaland state government’s commitment and efforts towards culture and tourism.
The Minister noted that Somalia is giving special importance to tourism and culture conservation. He said that Jubbaland is the center of Somalia’s tourism with rich ecosystem and beautiful sceneries boasting of beautiful islands, rich agricultural resources where the culture is attached.
He also mentioned Gobweyn village in the southern Lower Jubba region of Somalia which has a magnificent natural beauty where the Jubba river joins the India ocean.
