Puntland security forces displayed weapons and drugs seized in recent security operations in Garowe.

The Governor of the Nugal region, Abdirahman Haji Abshir, told the media on Sunday that one civilian died and two people were injured during the operation. He added that the security forces cleared illegal weapons in Garowe, the administrative capital of the state.

“We arrested the four most notorious men causing trouble in the city last night, and they will be brought to justice,” said Governor Abdirahman Abshir.

However, a day ago, the Puntland Security Force (PSF) apprehended two ISIS foreign nationals who survived last week’s US airstrike in northeastern Somalia. The men, Imraan Mohamed Alawi and Mabruuk Nassor Saidi, are from Tanzania. The security forces arrested them 30 km away from the area where the bombing took place, following a tip-off and subsequent pursuit by the PSF.
