Somali National Army Chief Maj. General Ibrahim Sheikh Muhyadin, accompanied by Somalia’s Ambassador to Kenya, Jibril Ibrahim Abdulle, extended condolences to the Kenyan Defence Forces on the death of Chief of Defence Forces General Francis Omondi Ogolla.
Maj. Gen. Muhyadin, alongside Ambassador Abdulle, conveyed heartfelt condolences to LT GEN C M KAHARIRI CBS, Vice Chief of the Defence Forces, and Honourable CS Aden Duale, EGH.
“Today marked a poignant moment as I had the privilege of accompanying Somali Chief of Defence Forces Maj. General Ibrahim Sh. Muhyadin to offer condolences to the Kenyan Defence Forces. As CDF Muhyadin signed the condolence book, our hearts were heavy with respect and admiration for Gen. Ogolla,” Ambassador Jibril remarked.
Kenya’s military chief, Francis Ogolla, died in a helicopter crash in the western part of the country on Thursday, President William Ruto announced in a televised address.
The helicopter crashed shortly after take-off on Thursday afternoon local time, killing Ogolla and nine other members of the military, Ruto said. Two people survived the crash, he added.
