Qatar Charity (QC) has begun implementing its Ramadan projects under the ‘Ramadan: Leave Your Mark’ campaign in 40 countries through its field offices and local partners.

The projects worth nearly QR31mn are expected to benefit more than 1mn people globally.

These projects focus on disaster and crisis-hit countries like Syria, Turkey, Somalia, Bangladesh (including Rohingya refugees), and Palestine, in addition to attaching significant attention to those most in need in poor communities.

Nawaf al-Hammadi, CEO’s assistant for the international operations and programmes sector at QC, said that there are three main projects – Feed the Fasting (Food Packages, Iftar Meals, and Iftar Tables), Zakat al-Fitr, and Eid Clothing.

The ‘Feed the Fasting’ project will continue throughout the holy month, while the other two projects are expected to be implemented soon. The project consists of either ready-to-eat Iftar meals or essential food packages for a family for the whole month of Ramadan. The project worth nearly QR21.3mn is expected to benefit 452,400 people.

The official noted that the ‘Zakat al-Fitr’ project aims to help underprivileged families and share the joy of Eid with them. The project worth nearly QR8.2mn is expected to benefit 542,200 people.

Al-Hammadi mentioned that the ‘Eid Clothing’ project, worth more than QR1.4mn, aims to benefit some 7,065 orphans. On behalf of QC, he thanked the philanthropists for their continued trust, for their support to its projects throughout the year, and for generously donating to its previous Ramadan drives. He urged them to support the ‘Ramadan: Leave Your Mark’ campaign to reach the expected number of beneficiaries.

Benefactors can donate to the projects of the ‘Ramadan: Leave Your Mark’ campaign through QC’s website (qcharity.org/en/qa), app (qch.qa/appen), branches and collection points located in malls and commercial centres, in addition to requesting for a “Home Collector” and dialing 44920000 to donate.
