The President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, said that the attacks carried out by his forces in recent days on the positions of the Kurds in the north of Syria are the beginning.

Mr. Erdogan said that he shared Turkey’s commitment to border security with the leaders of Syria.

Earlier, the Turkish Defense Minister said that the army has bombed almost five hundred targets belonging to Kurdish militias in Syria and Iraq since Sunday.

The intensification of Turkey’s military actions against Kurdish militias comes after an attack in Istanbul, which the government blamed on the PKK, Turkey’s Kurdish separatist movement.
