The Jubbaland first Vice President, Mohamud Sayid Aden has today chaired the Jubbaland monthly Security Council meeting.
The security meeting was attended by members of the Jubbaland cabinet, Jubbaland military officials, the Somali National Army as well as ATMIS officials.
Various officials from Jubbaland and the Somali National Army briefed the First Vice President of Jubbaland state on the security situation in Jubbaland state and the recent military operations in the areas north and west of the coastal town of Kismayo
The oficials were also instructed to be vigilant during the upcoming Eid al-Adha celebrations to prevent terrorist groups from committing acts of terror and causing insecurity.
On their part, the various officials have pledged to strengthen security in the Jubbaland state.
A joint operation is also said to be conducted by various Jubbaland forces and ATMIS troops in areas controlled by Al-Shabaab terror network.
The Jubbaland Deputy Police Commander, Colonel Mohamed Nasir Guled Hassan who spoke to the media after the security meeting said the various sections of the Jubbaland security forces are on high alert to degrade any security threat within the vast Jubbaland state.
The Jubbaland state government is said to be planning to launch a joint operation against Al-Shabaab militants in the coming days.
