Acute water shortage has hit Abdalla-Birole area in Kismayo, Jubbaland state.
Speaking to Radio Kismayo on phone, Abdalla-Birole area chairman, Muqtar Takow Abdi said the current situation in Abdalla-Birole and it’s environs are as a result of the adverse effects of the biting drought that has hit many parts of the country.
The village chairman said that there is still widespread water shortages in the area which has affected people as well as their livestock.
He added that a large number of livestock affected by the drought have been relocated to other areas where they can get water.
He pointed out that Abdalla-Birole area and its environs have not received any rains yet despite other parts of the region reporting heavy rains.
