Displaced families from Middle Jubba region have today reached the Danwadag IDP camp in Dhobley, as confirmed to Radio Kismayo by the chairman of the IDP camp, Muhumud Awdi.

Nearly 30 families, both pastoralists and farmers have been displaced from Jilib district in the Middle Juba region.

In the last two months of January and February 2022, 300 families from Afmadow district in Lower Jubba, Middle Jubba, Gedo and Bay regions have reached the camp to seek refuge from the biting drought.

The Danwadag camp is about 4km south of Dobley and has already housed returnees from the Dadaab refugee camp in Kenya and some 2,400 displaced families, according to the Danwadaag camp chairman, Muhumed Cawdi.

The Camp chairman said families live in dire condition and called for humanitarian assistance.
