US drone strike has targeted Al-Shabaab base in Galgadud region of Somalia.
A statement from the Somali government said that the Somali National Army, in collaboration with its international partners, managed to destroy an Al-Shabaab base in Hareeri-gubadle village, about 20 km east of Wabho in Galgadud region.
The government said in a statement that it had killed more than 200 Al-Shabaab members and officials, although there were no independent reports from the Somali government.
The US airstrikes come just days after US intelligence officials called on the US president to resume airstrikes against Somali-based Al-Shabab terror outfit.
