Somali Minister for Religious Affairs, Sheikh Omar Ali Roble has met with the new US Ambassador to Somalia Amb. LARRY ANDRÉ.
The Religious Affairs Minister congratulated the Ambassador on his new assignment and thanked the United States Government for its support in the rebuilding of the Somali governance process.
He highlighted the role of the United States in the fight against terrorism, stressing that the fight against Al-Shabaab terror group is an international one that requires co-operation.
Meanwhile Amb. LARRY praised the Somali Minister for his high level of understanding of how terrorist groups can be defeated and stressed that the United States will increase its support for state-building and redouble it’s efforts in the fight against Al-Shabaab extremism.
