The Jubbaland Drought Relief Committee appointed by the Jubbaland Minister for Relief and Disaster Management has today received funds raised by Ganaane School students in Kismayo District in aid of the drought-stricken people in the Jubbaland state.
The handover of the funds was attended by the Jubbaland Drought Relief Committee and the school administration.
The funds which were transferred to the drought committee amounted to $513 as well as a large sum of Somali shillings which were collected by the students of Ganane School.
Ganaane School Principal, Mohamed Hirsi Abdullahi praised the students and the drought committee for standing in aid of the drought affected people adding that the funds will help cushion the adverse effects of the drought no matter how little it may be.
Jubbaland drought relief committee spokesman, Ugas Abdullahi Sirad Abdi has confirmed the transfer of funds from Ganaane School and thanked them for their commitment in aid of the people.
