The Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mohamed Hussein Roble and his delegation will be heading to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) today, according to sources.
During his stay in Dubai, premier Roble will hold various meetings with UAE officials to discuss strengthening of ties between the governments of Somalia and the UAE, among other issues.
Prime Minister Roble’s visit to the United Arab Emirates will be the first by a high-ranking official from the Federal Government of Somalia since 2018, Then relations between the two countries deteriorated.
Earlier this month, Prime Minister Roble apologized to the United Arab Emirates for the incident, promising to return the money confiscated in April 2018, a move that marked the beginning of a return to normal relations between the two countries.
Roble’s visit to the United Arab Emirates is believed to be coming at a time when the Gulf, the Horn of Africa and the Red Sea are forming new alliances.
Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed arrived in the United Arab Emirates yesterday, followed by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi a few days ago.
