Somali Prime Minister chairs Cabinet meeting, calls on security agencies to strictly focus on security matters

The Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mohamed Hussein Roble has today chaired a weekly Cabinet meeting, reporting on the agreement reached by the National Consultative Council on the completion of the long-delayed Somali elections.

The prime minister said the government and all parties are committed to completing the election on time.

Speaking on the security situation in the country, Prime Minister Roble told security agencies to focus on maintaining security as their prime duty.

“I urge the security agencies to focus on maintaining security in the country as we face enemies from every front, “Said Prime Minister Roble.

Primier Roble said his government was pursuing a foreign policy based on the interests of the Somali people, noting that it was not possible for Somalia to be at war with countries with so much interests in common.

The Somali Prime Minister has also instructed ministers and other heads of government not to abuse the power and resources of the country for self gain especially during the transition period.
