Somalia government denies transfer of airspace to U.S-based company

The federal government of Somalia has denied rumors circulating on social media that the Somalia airspace has been handed over to a US-based company.

Federal Government Transport Minister Duran Ahmed Farah has denied reports on social media that the country’s airspace has been handed over to a U.S-based private company.

Duran Ahmed Farah issued a statement denying the allegations, saying the federal government of Somalia was in control of its airspace and had no plans to hand it over at any given time.

“The FGS, which is in charge of the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation, has no plans to hand over control of the airspace to a private company,” Said Duran Ahmed.

He said that the Federal Government of Somalia is in control of the country’s airspace, noting that this is part of the progress made by the Somali federal government.
