National Consultative Council meeting expected to open today in Mogadishu

The National Consultative Council meeting is expected to open today in the Somali Capital, Mogadishu.

The National Consultative Council meeting will be chaired by the Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, Mohamed Hussein Roble and will be attended by the Somali Heads of regional States and Governor of Benadir Region.

The conference will focus on security issues, improving the electoral process and concluding the elections on time.

The meeting was announced by the Prime Minister of Somalia and was scheduled to open on December 27th but was postponed.

Somali Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble has last night held preliminary meetings with regional state presidents to discuss his commitment to delivering credible elections in the country.

Premier Mohamed Hussein Roble, backed by the international community, succeeded in persuading regional state presidents to attend the conference which was initially in turmoil.
