The council of Somali Presidential Candidates have today issued a statement condemning what they termed as “failed coup” attempt in Somalia.
A statement from the Union of Candidates also called for an immediate investigation and prosecution of President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo and others involved in yesterday’s “failed coup” attempt.
The council also commended Somali Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble for his courageous decision in the “coup attempt ” and announced that the country was heading for free and fair elections.
The statement from the council of Presidential Candidates also demanded that the outgoing President leave the Somali presidential palace immediately, in order to put an end to the conspiracies he is plotting against the people of Somalia and the entire country.
