More than 4,500 flights cancelled due to Corona Virus

The world’s commercial airlines have canceled more than 4,500 flights during the Christmas weekend, with a growing wave of COVID-19 infections caused by Omicron variants creating widespread uncertainty and frustration for passengers.

According to Flightaware.com, at least 2,000 flights were canceled worldwide on Christmas Day alone.

On Friday, there were nearly 2,400 cancellations and nearly 11,000 delays. Its also reported over more than 600 cancellations on this coming Sunday.

This has forced Lufthansa, Delta, United Airlines and many other airlines around the globe to cancel flights during one of the peak travel times of the year.
