Qatar condemned yesterday’s bombing in Mogadishu

The government of Qatar has condemned yesterday’s suicide attack at the El-Gab intersection in Mogadishu, which killed eight people and injured nine others.

A statement from Qatar’s Foreign Ministry said “the government strongly condemns the attack on a checkpoint in Hamar Jajab district which resulted in deaths and injuries”.

The statement also said that the Qatari government had reiterated its opposition to violence and terrorism.

The Qatari Foreign Ministry sent its condolences to the Somali government, the people of Somalia and the families of those killed in the blast, and wished speedy recovery to those injured.

Among the eight people killed in the blast was Hibaaq Abukar of the Somali Prime Minister’s Office.

Somali-based Al-Shabaab terror militants have claimed responsibility for yesterday’s attack.
