Somali government submits new request to Qatar

The Somali Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Mohamed Abdirizak Mohamud held a telephone conversation with the Qatar Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Mohammad bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, during which they discussed key issues.

The meeting largely discussed the strengthening of bilateral relations and cooperation between the two brotherly countries as well as the latest developments in regional and international affairs.

The Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Federal Republic of Somalia has proposed draft issues to Qatar to discuss matters relating to the political and security issues of Somalia.

The Qatari government is one of the main supporters of Somalia and is widely rumored to be close friends with Villa Somalia officials, including the outgoing Somali President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo.
