Somalia’s Minister for Defense, Hassan Hussein Haji attended the closing ceremony of a training course for Somali top military graduate officers held at the Turkish military academy in the Turkish National Defense University.
The ceremony was attended by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and members of his cabinet.
The Somali Minister for Defense, Hassan Hussein Haji thanked the Turkish government for its support in training the troops and providing weapons and tactical vehicles for the Somali government forces.
Turkey is one of the main donors to Somalia, providing annual training to its troops and officers as well as providing weapons and vehicles to the Somali government forces fighting the Al Qaeda-linked Al-Shabaab terror militants.
