Fresh new cases of Corona Virus recorded in Somalia

The Federal Government of Somalia’s Ministry of Health said in a daily report on Corona virus data that 105 new cases of COVID-19 have been recorded the last two days, killing nine people and while 64 others are still in recovery.

The Minister for Health and Social Welfare of the Federal Government of Somalia, Ms. Fowzia Abikar Nur, confirmed that new cases have been reported in Puntland recorded 60 new cases, Banadir registered 38 fresh cases, Somaliland recorded 5 new cases while Galmudug registered 2 fresh Corona Virus cases. 51 patients were confirmed to be men while 54 are women.

The number of COVID-19 cases registered in the country reached 16,892 and 8,141 people were cured. A total of 927 people died from the global pandemic Corona Virus disease.

Ms. Fowziya Abikar Nur called on the community to take the advice of health professionals and heed public awareness campaigns on the dangers of the disease.

She said the risk of COVID-19 has redoubled and urged everyone to be vigilant and get vaccinated against the disease.
