3 Students feted in the fish art competition program held in Kismayo to help underscore the nutritional values of fish consumption in schools

The Jubbaland Ministry of Information and Public Awareness in collaboration with the Jubbaland Ministry of Education has today concluded a fish art competition program in some schools in Kismayo, Jubbaland state .

The fish art competition program whose theme was to underscore the nutritional importance of fish consumption among school children has feted the best 3 students who did well in the competition.

The program was rolled out as a competition for school students in which the winners were to be awarded at the conclusion of the competition program.

Two boys and a girl emerged the winners of the schools fish art competition program and were feted today in the presence of a host of officials from the Jubbaland Ministry of education, the Jubbaland Ministry of information and public Awarenes and the GIZ.

The Jubbaland Ministry of Information and Public Awareness and the Ministry of Education has partnered with the GIZ in helping in the implementation of the fish art program.

Hashim Abdirahman Weheliye, the principal of Khalid bin Walid school, who presented the three students with the prizes said the fish art program would directly benefit the students in schools in Kismayo by helping them understand the nutritional values of fish consumption.

Ahmed Hussein Abdulle, the head of the education department at the Ministry of Education, who was also present during the event praised the students for their efforts to make the program a success and hence understandingits theme.
The Director of the Ministry of Information and Public Awareness, Abdi Shukri Arab Omar thanked GIZ for assisting the ministry with the fish art program, saying the aim was to encourage students and develop their talents as well as helping in the vivid understanding of fish values in schools.
