Somalia’s ambassador to Switzerland, Austria and the United Nations Center for Human Rights, Abyan Mohamed Salah said the Somali government had fulfilled six of the nine articles of the UN Charter on Human and Peoples’ Rights.

Ambassador Abyan Mohamed Salah also said that Somalia has made great strides in human rights for the third time.
“For example, we have signed the Children’s Rights Act, as well as the Law on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, recently signed by the President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo, and is one of the most important laws”, Said Abyan Mohamed.

Abyan Mohamed Salah said Somalia has been recovering from three decades of devastation and is now playing a key role in the UN Charter.

“We are very pleased that we are moving forward so fast to be in line with the world, and it is important for us to protect human rights,” said Ambassador Abyan Mohamed Salah.
