Reports from Bossaso town, the regional capital of Bari region indicate that a large number of families fleeing the ongoing conflict in Yemen have arrived in the town last night.
Officials from the Puntland Ministry of Interior welcomed the families of 80 Somali and Yemeni refugees at Bossaso Port by boat.
The new refugee families have been welcomed and transferred to the Puntland Refugee Reception Center, where they will be resettled, according to a statement from the Ministry of Interior.
The ministry also said that Somali and Yemeni refugees, mostly women and children, have fled the long-running conflict in Yemen.
Recently, the Puntland State of Somalia, in collaboration with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and the International Organization for Migration (IOM), has been accepting various refugees fleeing the conflict in Yemen.
