Regional leaders return home today after Afisiyoni poll agreement in Mogadishu

The Presidents of Puntland and Jubbaland regional states of Somalia are returning back to their respective states after the culmination of the poll talks where a formal agreement has been reached in the Somali elections.

The two presidents are expected to return to Puntland and Jubbaland regional states today, where they will work together to reshuffle members of the Federal Electoral Commission.

The Mogadishu Electoral Agreement stipulates a change in the composition of the electoral commission, which has been criticized.

The protest came as as a result of employees of the Federal and State Governments of the country who are considered to be impartial

Jubbaland state President Ahmed Mohamed Islam, is expected to return to Kismayo today from the Somali capital, Mogadishu.

Preparations are underway for his grand welcome to Kismayo with fleets of cars seen driving to the Aden Adde international Airport in Kismayo for his grand reception.
