The US Embassy in Mogadishu praised the presidents of Galmudug and Hir-Shabelle regional administrations for opposing the extension of the term of the emabattled Somali president and supporting the September 17th agreement.
A message on the US embassy’s Twitter account called on President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo to accept a clear path to dialogue and peace.
Meanwhile, EU Special Representative for Somalia Nicolas Berlanga took to Twitter to laud Somali Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble and the authorities for their struggle and courage to hold a free and fair election in the country.
Berlanga said violence is not allowed in Somalia, and the only way open for the political leaders is through dialogue.
Hir -Shabelle and Galmudug regional administrations have said they oppose any extension of federal government institutions.
