Jubbaland health Ministry discusses the state of coronavirus with health partner stakeholders amid night curfew in Kismayo

The Jubbaland Health ministry has yesterday held a meeting for the ministry staff and the health programes partner organizations in Kismayo Jubbaland state of Somalia.

The purpose of the meeting was to exchange information between the Health Ministry staff and officials from health organizations.

The meeting discussed the situation of the Coronavirus health pandemic in the Jubbaland regional state and how to deal with the ravaging virus.

The head of the World Health Organization (WHO) in Jubbaland state, Dr. Mohamed Abdullahi, who was one of the participants underscored the importance of the conference and the need to work together in a bid to tackle the coronavirus pandemic.

” The Coronavirus pandemic is real and causing deaths and despair. We need to all come together and fight this health pandemic which is eating up our society,” Said Dr. Mohamed Abdullahi.

The Director General of the Jubbaland Ministry of Health, Idris Hassan Mohamud who officiated the health meeting said the Jubbaland state health ministry has put in place measures to curb the spread of the Coronavirus pandemic and called on strict adherence to the Covid measures and regulations.

He said the Jubbaland health Ministry is closely working together with the Jubbaland police to enforce the night curfew as well arresting anyone who doesn’t use face mask in public.

The Jubaland Ministry of Health holds a quarterly meeting to brief staff and partner stakeholders on latest developments as well as formulate plans to help guide the Ministry.
