Egypt calls on Somali leaders to agree and forge a common goal

Efforts are underway by the international community to bring together the leaders who were part of the Electoral System Agreement signed on September 17 despite the in attendance of both Jubbaland and Puntland regional state presidents in yesterday’s Aficioni camp conference.

Egyptian government has called on all parties in politics in Somalia to go on joint negotiations to achieve a comprehensive and inclusive agreement on all matters.

Egyptian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ahmed Hafid told reporters in Cairo that Somalia’s political parties need to work together to hold free and fair elections that are acceptable to the Somali people as soon as possible.

Complexity politics have also been mentioned in a meeting with Foreign Minister of Egypt, together with his counterpart in Somalia with the Minister of State in Villa Somalia, who is now in operational tour in the Egyptian capital of Cairo.
