The government of Somalia has expressed its deepest condolences over the death of former Somali president Ali Mahdi Mohamed who passed away in the Kenyan capital, Nairobi, in a critical condition.
The government has said that three days of mourning will be held and the national flag will be flown half-mast to mourn the death of former President Ali Mahdi Mohamed.
Outgoing Somali President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo offered his condolences on the death of the former President of Somalia, adding that the Somali nation will lower the flag of the Republic for three days in honour of the fallen ex-president.
“We are lowering the flag of the republic for three days to show our grief over the death of the former Somali president and a national funeral committee has been appointed to honor his efforts for the country and the people of Somalia.”
