Former deputy governor of Benadir regional administration Ibrahim Dheere was among those injured in the shooting during the Mogadishu protest by opposition leaders on Friday.

Ibrahim Dheere said he broke his arm while fleeing government forces dispersing protesters between Aden Adde International Airport and the KM-4 junction in Mogadishu.

The opposition protest was led by Abdirahman Abdishakur, Hassan Ali Kheyre, Abdikarin Guled, Nabadon Haad and lawmakers Mahad Salad and Abdirahman Odowa.

He said he has broken his arm as they fled the shooting and he is being treated and he is now in good health. He blamed the outgoing Somali President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo for what had happened on Friday.
