UN STRONGLY CONDEMNS THE ELITE HOTEL TERROR ATTACK IN MOGADISHU

A statement from the United Nations Office in Somalia has strongly condemned the Al-Shabaab attack on the Elite Hotel on Lido Beach in Mogadishu.

The United Nations says the attack that killed and injured scores of people is heinous.
The United Nations also sent its condolences to the families and relatives of those killed in the attack on the Elite Hotel, and wished the injured a speedy recovery.

“The United Nations strongly condemns the attack on the Elite Hotel in Mogadishu, which claimed many lives and injured many people. The United Nations extends its deepest condolences to the families and friends of the victims, ”the statement said.

At least 11 people were killed at the beachside Elite Hotel yesterday evening and scores injured after the Al- Qaeda-linked Al-shabaab terror militants stormed the Elite Hotel in Mogadishu’s Liido Beach.

Somali special forces have ended the four-hour long siege at the Mogadishu beach side hotel in the capital Mogadishu.
