More than 100 federal soldiers were captured in the battle of Ras-Kambooni today boarded a special plane to Mogadishu from Ras-Kambooni airstrip.

Officials from the Jubbaland government including ministers, the mayor of Kismayo and officers led by the commander of the 43rd division of the National Army have seen off the soldiers on their departure.

The youthful soldiers who were captured in Ras-Kambooni expressed their gratitude to the special treatment given by the Jubbaland government forces during captivity.

The Jubbaland government said that the federal government is responsible for the tragedy that happened in Raas-Kambooni as it invaded a peaceful area that was liberated from the Al-Shabaab militants in 2011.

Last Wednesday, a heavy fighting took place in Ras-Kambooni between the federal forces and the Jubbaland government forces before Jubbaland taking control over the area.
